The Great Ones

| St. Gregory's |
Dedicated to Catholic education, Saint Gregory the Great School nurtures moral development, scholarship, lifelong learning, and responsible stewardship through faith formation and a virtue-centered way of life. Saint Gregory the Great Catholic School has a religious and academic purpose. Integration of the spiritual and academic dimensions is essential to the education of the whole child. The goal is to instill a sense of individual responsibility, to build self-esteem, to encourage excellence, and to teach decision-making skills, as well as the traditional academic disciplines.

To further fulfill the education of the whole child, SGS and OWMC launched their school unicycle club in the fall of 2015. In just a few short months, “The Great One’s” had impacted dozens of children and families through one-wheeled play. By the spring of 2016, they had already performed for their parish festival, a half time show for a local high school basketball game, and even a performance for the San Antonio Silver Stars at opening night of the WNBA 2016 season.

Every Wednesday after school, children grades 2-7 can be seen rolling through campus and celebrating the joys of unicycling. We are excited about how quickly the club has grown and can’t wait to roll into other San Antonio communities in the years to come.
