One Wheel Many Children began implementing the first phase of a unique Play Based Literacy curriculum for the 2016-2017 school year at KIPP Austin Comunidad. The innovative program reveres the unicycle as an ideal childhood development tool and uses that tool to bridge the gap between Physical Education and Language Arts. Creative journaling and reflection activities are designed to foster a deeper appreciation for teamwork, service learning, and a growth mindset. TheKIPPsters may disagree, but The KIPP Austin Weird Project is not actually about unicycling at all. It's about a community intentionally creating an inclusive culture that inspires children to grow, physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially through play. For more information regarding this one of a kind project, reach out, and we'll have the kids bring you up to speed.
